- All required music (warmups, cadences, grooves, show) organized in plastic sleeves in a binder.
- A pencil (basses be sure to bring a highlighter as well)
- Water in a large bottle (no pop or energy drinks)
- Marching Shoes (no sandals)
- Hat and Sunglasses
- Drill Book

Use the following resources while practicing at home:

- RELAX - don't use any more muscles than necessary.
- Always maintain a strong fulcrum and relatively flat hands.
- The stick must always contact the head with its full velocity, especially when playing low. Relax and let the stick go BOOM!
- Always play with proper stick heights - watch your beads when practicing.
- Hands not playing should be at rest pointing toward the drum in the set position in order for one to look confident and professional.
- PRACTICE WITH A METRONOME or recorded music with solid timekeeping.
- Don't practice "above your head." take one step at a time (especially with tempos).
- Chops are the key to playing great. Burning muscle pain is your friend.
- PLAY AGGRESSIVELY!!!!!!!
