We will begin the rehearsal by playing through our warmup routine. These warmups should be memorized by this point, but I will note that we will add a couple of new ones. At the end of this post is the order that you should have warmups placed in your binder (all of them may not be written out and take note of which ones we did not play during our spring rehearsals). I suggest that you organize your binder with a section for Warmups, Cadences and Show Music (drill included).
Rehearsal Plan for July 5
Once we are finished with the warmups, we will review the expectations as well as technique (stick position, attention, parade rest, etc.). Next we will review Gameday and BSoD extended short version (with tenors section). The rest of the time will be used to introduce sections of Red Atlas and Complete Control as a full ensemble. Most of you already have this and if you need it, please email me ([email protected]) prior to Tuesday so I can send you a pdf file and you can practice before the rehearsal.
We have had a strong start to the season through the dedication displayed through the audition process, spring and festival rehearsals and I look forward to the development of this year’s line as we strive to become the best drumline as possible!
